Travelling by train?
The museum is about a 15-minute walk from Tiel railway station. Head towards the town centre and follow the signs for the town centre and the Waalkade.
Travelling by bike?
The museum is in the centre of Tiel and is easily accessible via several cycle routes through the Betuwe region. Bike parking is available near the museum, and e-bike charging points are available in the town centre.
Travelling by car?
The museum is in the centre of Tiel. There are several car parks in and around the town centre, including Westluidense Poort car park and the Oude Haven car park. From there, the museum is just a few minutes’ walk away. Please note: when using satnav, we recommend entering the car park as your destination.
Accessibility
The Flipje en Streekmuseum is housed in a historic building with many stairs. We want the museum to be as accessible as possible and do our best to achieve this within the building’s limitations.
The museum is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. A lift connects the upper floors, with a separate wheelchair lift providing access from the ground floor to the first floor, where the main lift starts.
A wheelchair-accessible toilet is available on the top floor.
Assistance dogs are welcome.
For safety reasons, no more than five wheelchair users can be in the museum at any one time.

MuseumshopThe Flipje en Streekmuseum shop has a wide range of items inspired by Flipje and the history of the Betuwe region, including souvenirs, gifts and books for all ages.
Just looking for a nice gift? You’re welcome to visit the museum shop during opening hours without visiting the museum itself.
Coffee and tea The museum doesn’t have a café, but a drinks machine on the fifth floor offers free tea, coffee and hot chocolate. You’ll also find plenty of welcoming cafés and restaurants within walking distance in Tiel town centre.

Ja! Onze museumwinkel vind je in de entree van het museum, schuin tegenover de toegangsbalie. We verkopen diverse Flipje artikelen als koelkastmagneetjes, lepeltjes, stickers. Daarnaast verkopen we diverse jammetjes uit de regio en is er een uitgebreid aanbod van boeken die betrekking hebben op het museum, Tiel of de regio.
Ja, aan de balie van ons museum kun je direct de Museumkaart kopen, je kunt er dan gelijk gebruik van maken. Je krijgt dan een tijdelijke kaart, die 31 dagen geldig is. Het is héél belangrijk dat je deze tijdelijke kaart meteen registreert op de Museumkaart site. Daarmee personaliseer je de kaart en krijg je de definitieve kaart thuisgestuurd met jouw gegevens erop.
Je kunt maximaal 5 bezoeken afleggen met je tijdelijke kaart. Je tijdelijke kaart is geldig totdat je de definitieve Museumkaart hebt gekregen. Daarna niet meer.
Toegang verkrijg je op vertoon van je fysieke Museumkaart of digitaal via de officiële Museumkaart app. Een foto van de fysieke kaart op je telefoon geeft GEEN toegang tot het museum.
Ja, er is een gratis garderobe met gratis kluisjes.
Het museum beschikt over een invalidetoilet en een lift die geschikt is voor rolstoelen, zodat alle museumzalen toegankelijk zijn. In verband met de veiligheid mogen er maar 5 personen met rolstoel tegelijk aanwezig zijn in het museum. Neem dus graag voor een bezoek eerst even contact op.
