ArcheoHotspot
ArcheoHotspot

In addition to presenting the prehistory and antiquity storyline, there is an ArcheoHotspot. This is a separate space within the museum where visitors, school classes, and future archaeologists can experience archaeology firsthand. Tiel is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands with abundant material from archaeological excavations. More material can be expected from future excavations. A portion of this material is suitable for closer examination and study by amateur archaeologists, enthusiasts, and students. The ArcheoHotspot provides them with opportunities through lectures and workshops.
Become a volunteer at the ArcheoHotspot!
ArcheoHotspot Tiel makes archaeology tangible and accessible for everyone. We are here for volunteers and professionals, enthusiasts and experts, young and old, online and offline. In this way, we share information, knowledge, and experiences, but also stories: stories that might otherwise be lost. The ArcheoHotspot is located next to the water gate, in the Flipje and Streekmuseum, and is free to access.
The ArcheoHotspot will officially open on April 25th. After that, we want to open the ArcheoHotspot every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, to collaborate with interested parties on the shard table to determine the archaeological finds from Tiel and the region. For this purpose, we are looking for volunteers who would like to help.
